UNLOCKING THE VISION

I heard the whispers that we were crazy
But I know we are geniuses
 I just wonder what happened
 Did we lose the vision?
 Did we forget the mission?
Or do we pretend we can’t catch up with them?

This vision has a long history
Yet it is an ever present reality
It set us on the path to a mission; a mission to accomplish
Our passion for this vision makes the change
It can change hearts and minds, thoughts and beliefs, even the world we live in
If we hold on, we can stop one more heart from breaking

This task seems too daunting; maybe it is
Yet we march to the door with heavy stamping
For the sake of an open mind and a clear sight
So that we can see the sunrise at dawn
And create a new energy
Capable of surviving the death of its source

We have the keys firmly placed on our hands with expectation
Keys to the door of a vision too great and sublime
To unlock it, we have to walk to the doors with zeal and courage
Lest we become cold hearted and grow weary
We have the map to this mission, but it is not going to be a smooth walk
The path ways are rough edged

It may be like a moonless walk
On a stormy earthquake night down a sloppy cliff
We may miss our steps in the most terrible ways
We may wrestle with the ‘not-so-beautiful’
We may walk through various shades of darkness
But we shouldn’t lose hope and focus

Though the pace is slow moving through the dark
But we should keep moving
We don’t give up, because we are fueled with hope
I do hope we surrender not our hope
I do hope we lose not the map and the keys
I do hope we fall not on our slippery feet

This greatness would be ours
If we choose to let it shine
By the light coming out of the two eyes
We see anew as if for the first time
And we know first hand
That it is in dark times that the eyes begin to see

Youths keep up; we are running later than supposed
