HOLDING ON TO HOPE

I shut my eyes and the world drop dead
I wrestle with the not-so-beautiful
I have lived in different shades of darkness
And under a very common shadow

But the greatness I carry is mine
Because I decided to let it shine
Strangely enough my message of transformation came
It came at my moment of weakness and brokenness

But like a frightened child clinging to his mother
I’m holding unto you
I will not let go of you until the dark shadows are pass
I refuse to surrender the hope that beauty could be restored in the midst of ruin

One with wisdom and knowledge
Is the carrier of light in the darkness
But the enlightened one
Becomes the light himself
